The below trip can be done as part of Sri Lanka upcountry rail journey-a comfortable rail journey lasts 4 days which includes “Podimenike express” train plus several excursions to Colombo, Nuwara Eliya, Ella and Kandy with its most sacred Buddhist temple (Tooth relic temple), where the left eye tooth of Buddha rests.

Day 1 :

<p>Warmly welcomed by serendipity tours representative at 6.00 AM, you will be introduced to your dedicated chauffeur/Guide for the tour, to be transferred to Railway station Pettah to board the Intercity express train which will start its journey at 7.00 AM. </p><p></p><p>After 2 hours comfortable trip on the train, you will meet your Driver/Guide at the Peradeniya railway station Kandy at 9.00 AM. The rest of the day is reserved to explore the beautiful city of Kandy. </p><p></p><p>KANDY</p><p>A ruled in Kandy up to 1815 although the rest of the island was under the British regime. Finally, it was ceded to them by the Chieftains of Kandy who were disappointed over the king’s cruel deeds. Today Kandy is one of the most important cities owing to the presence of the Temple of the sacred tooth of the Buddha.</p><p></p><p>Visit, Temple of Tooth Relic in Kandy, p.m. enjoy a typical Sri Lankan Cultural Show of Drumming Dancing music and fire walking.</p><p></p><p>BOTANICAL GARDEN</p><p>The Botanical Garden of Peradeniya was a pleasure garden of a Kandyan King of the 16th Century and later made into a Botanical Garden during the British regime. This gardens; one of the best in Asia is a place of beauty and site for bird watchers.</p><p></p><p>TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH</p><p>Temple of the tooth in the central province (Kandy) of Sri Lanka is the most visited Buddhist temple in the island, similar to Mecca for Muslims. This historical temple is visited by thousands of devotees every day. The temple houses the left eyetooth of Buddha. Day 2 :

<p>After the breakfast leave for the Kandy Railway station where you board the "Podimenike Express train". This train journey will be the most scenic train ride in the island and you will be surprised by the beautiful scenery you encounter. The train journey from Kandy to Nanu Oya railway station. </p><p>Upon arrival at the railway station in Nuwara Eliya, you will be met by your driver/guide and sightseeing tour of Nuwara Eliya follows. </p><p></p><p>NUWARA ELIYA</p><p>The Hill Country of Sri Lanka is a sight to behold. After the heat of the low lands of Sri Lanka, the diversity of temperature and scenery of the high lands is incredible.</p><p></p><p>Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Bandarawela, are three popular hill stations of Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya is the highest, situated over 6000 feet above sea level is also called “Little England”. As this is where the British built themselves a home away from home.</p><p></p><p>The winding road that leads to the hill country through tea plantations that carpet the hills to extents beyond sight, the waterfalls that meander cascading down the hills, the misty valleys and scenery are certainly awe-inspiring. </p><p></p><p>SITA AMMAN KOVIL </p><p>The place, where Sita stayed in India was similar to Nuwara Eliya with a cool climate and beautiful surroundings. Therefore king Ravana took her to Nuwara Eliya, where she was permitted to go about freely. The place she stayed came to be known as Seethaeliya. A beautiful Hindu temple was built at a later period where Queen Seetha was held. Earlier the temple was known as “Seetha” kovil and it is called “Seedai Amman” at present. The Hindus make vows at the temple since they believe that there is a miraculous power in it. </p><p></p><p>TEA FACTORY</p><p>Visit a Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory en route. Sri Lanka is famous for its “Ceylon Tea” has added cheers to many the world over for more than a century.</p><p></p><p>Nuwara Eliya sightseeing tour also includes visits to Gregory lake, city tour, Golf course, Victoria Park and race course.</p><p></p><p>Dinner and overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya</p><p></p>

Day 3 :
Day 3

<p>After breakfast leave for the Nanuoya railway station to board the train to Elle. The journey will last around 1 hour. Upon arrival at the railway station, you will encounter your driver/Guide and he will escort you to the hotel in Elle. In the afternoon sightseeing tour of Elle and few activities such as trekking mini-Adams peak, trek to Ravana waterfall and tea plantation. </p><p></p><p>Dinner and overnight stay in Elle</p><p></p>

Day 4 :
Day 4

<p>After the breakfast leave for Colombo via Rathnapura, En-route visit saman devala and gem museum.</p>

Yes! pick-up location can be any other location than Colombo, however, there can be an additional charge for the transfer.

Between 21 days and 30 days – 50% or the equivalent of the first two days charges.
Above 31 days – No cancellation charges provided no commitment or advances are made to 3rd parties.
The cancellation policy will be applicable for any reduction of rooms after the release period.
