Kandy and Sigiriya are 2 iconic tourist attractions that secure a place in most tours of Sri Lanka cultural triangle. Some people tend to miss the historical places in the cultural triangle such as Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa; however, only in very rare cases we can see the places like Kandy, Sigiriya and Dambulla are left out from tours of Sri Lanka cultural triangle. In other words, Kandy and Sigiriya are two iconic tourist attractions that attract a large number of visitors.

A large number of tourists, who visit the island wish to explore Sri Lanka cultural triangle, however, some of them, unfortunately, have the time constraints and look for short tours of Sri Lanka cultural triangle, such as this 2 days tour, understandably with the inclusion of most important historical sites. If you are a traveller fall into that category (have very limited time and wish to explore the essence of Sri Lanka cultural triangle), this could be an ideal tour for you. This 2 days tour itinerary can be easily reshaped, whatever the way you wish to, by adding some other places to the program or making it further short.

Kandy and Sigiriya tour mainly covers the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka. This two days tour allows you to see several world heritage sites on the island namely KandySigiriya and Dambulla. Kandy Sigiriya tour is a private tour and it enables you to see some of the most interesting places on the island within a very short period of time. This package also includes a safari with a 4 wheel drive jeep in the Minneriya national park, allowing you to explore the rich wildlife of Sri Lanka in this short program.

Apart from the aforementioned 4 activities (visiting Sigiriya rock fortress, Dambulla cave temple, Kandy temple and safari at Minneriya national park), there is still room to expand the program by adding several activities such as cooking class, elephant ride, village tour, cooking class etc. However, adding optional activities on the itinerary depends on the availability of time.

Most importantly this tour is a private tour, means you have the maximum flexibility and privacy of the program, the tour flows at your own pace. The starting point of the tour is Colombo, however, you can adjust the starting point to meet your requirements, usually, there is no additional charge for the pick-up if the starting point of the tour within Colombo.

The recommended time to start the tour is at 08.00 AM but it can be changed, most of the time the pick-up timing is changed if the participants are coming from the airport. Usually, the most flight arrive in Colombo airport early in the morning, therefore the guests are requesting the pick timing on par with their arrival time.  There will be no additional charged for early morning pick-up or late pick-ups, however, it is highly recommended to start the journey early hours due to the time required for the sightseeing on Day 1.

The tour kicks-off in Colombo, because most travellers, who book this kind of tours of Sri Lanka cultural triangle, which are very short programs, are based in Colombo. Most of the travellers, who choose this 2 days Kandy and Sigiriya tour are not leisure travellers, they are business travellers or people on a foreign mission such as attending a conference, trade show, attending seminar etc, and therefore have very limited time for extra activities. Most of these travellers opt to one of the tours of Sri Lanka cultural triangle, in order to make use of their visit to see some of the most important tourist attractions on the island.

Our tour guide Srimal was very good and knowledgeable guide. apart from the transfer he also gave a thorough explanation about Sigiriya, Dambulla, tooth relic temple, and the safari was fantastic, we saw a large number of elephants. I recommend this tour agency and their drivers to all travellers.

  2. :

Had this tour while I was in Kandy. Prashan, my guide, picked me up and dropped me off my hotel. We visited many places such as Sigiriya rock, Dambulla cave, Kandy temple, spice garden, elephant orphanage and few other places. Overall, it was tiring however very worth the price. Thankyou so much! 🙂

  3. :

Our chauffeur of the trip was Nisan, was very friendly and informative. He arrived at our hotel early, and we departed on time, the trip was very comfortable and nisan informed us of the history and geography of each destination and the places we were passing along the way. We enjoyed the climb of Sigiriya (very busy, but not particularly difficult), we ate a local lunch in a nearby restaurant and did the safari. The Dambulla caves were very interesting, Nisan showed us around and we visited the Golden Temple afterwards. Next day we visited Tooth relic temple and Orphanage another 2 important places on the trip. Overall we had a very enjoyable 2 days and would wholeheartedly recommend this tour company.

The tour was definitely worth it! Got picked up and transported safely to all the sights, starting with the rock temple, then Sigirya rock, later the elephant safari which was the highlight of that day and Kandy as well as orphanage!
Entry fees are not included but the price is definitely reasonable.
Thank you for a great day!

  9. :

All in all, Sri Lanka is a great place to visit, very nice people and I really wanna come visit again.

  11. :

The tour includes many optional activities and we did all of them, even though it became fully packed 2 days. Minneriya National Park was fantastic, I can not describe how amazing it was. We had the best 2 days of our lives & truly once in a life time. We were picked up at early from our hotel and went to Dambulla temples which were stunning- must see. Sirigiya Rock is a harder climb for older people but it was so worth it and phenomenal history behind it all. We have a driver- sameera- he went out of his way to do extra for us, offering to stop at more temples and anywhere else we wanted to go if our time allowed it. We were so comfortable with him and he was always explaining everything and going out of his way to make it an amazing day for us, we can’t thank him enough!
Highly recommend this 2 day trip, although it’s a long drive it’s a way to see everything and have an AMAZING once in a life time experience.

  12. :

Our family of 5 had the pleasure of spending 2days with Silva and a very competent driver – which is what you need in Sri Lanka. We were picked up from our hotel in Colombo and spent a wonderful 2days exploring the caves, temple, elephant orphanage and ruins. We opted for the elephant safari to cater for our young family and our daughters still talk about this day and the enjoyment they experienced. We also arranged all of our transport around Sri Lanka with this company and I can vouch that they are, not only very competitive with their pricing, they just made it easy to get around. I highly recommend Seerendipity.

On security point of bview Sri Lanka is fully safe.

  13. :

We had a very positive experience with this driver shantha from Seerencipity. He was prompt to collect us from our Colombo Hotel and his car was immaculately clean. shantha drive us to Sigaria and stopped along the way if we required to take pictures, visit a spice garden, purchase water etc. He patiently waited for us at Sygaria whilst we climbed the rock and drive us back to the hotel. They also provide competent tour guides at each site, we did not expect it but, they are highly knowledgable of the site.

  14. :

Booked this as a 2 day trip on a limb didn’t know what to expect and it blew my expectation! I was traveling solo and was entertained the whole time by my good friend Roma! He was amazing drove me everywhere I wanted to go and gave me great conversation the whole way. He provided great insight to the culture of Sri Lanka. I definitely recommend! Just make sure you know that the ticket is not includedU in the price !

  15. :

We booked several routes with this company: Colombo to Galle and back, Colombo to tea plantations, Ella. They have good prices and the services they offer can make your trip to Sri Lanka extraordinary. Also, we had the most patient and helpful driver: dina. He gave us the best insights for this country: how to avoid tourist traps, where to eat, where to buy stuff at the best prices, what are the perfect hous for visiting attractions in order to avoid crowds, etc.

  16. :

I arranged a visit to pidurangala with My driver/guide Guna and had a great time, he spoke great English & we had a right good laugh on the journey. He didn’t climb the rock with me which I didn’t mind but he provided an expert on the site and did not have to pay for anything other than the entrance ticket. He told me all about the history of sigariya & dambulla and even stopped to buy me a coconut after my hike. He is a good driver & I felt safe with him at all times. Ask for Guna when booking, you won’t be disapointed 😊
