After Polonnaruwa, as you are coming across the Minneriya national park, here you can witness a large number of wild elephnats. Wild buffaloes, monkeys, crocodile, wild boar, deer are some of the very common animals here. Minneriya is an optional activity and it can only be done if time permits you to do it.
